Open Arms Homes aim to provide Christian residential homes which are safe places of change for vulnerable and homeless women. We are a non-profit charitable organisation, limited by a Guarantee company, and are currently applying to become a registered charity.

Our homes will provide a safe, caring and homely environment where vulnerable women will experience God’s love whilst receiving help and support to equip and empower them to rebuild and live a fulfilled independent life.

Having identified a lack of ‘women only’ homelessness services in the Wakefield and Dewsbury area, we intend to begin with a 12-bed residential home in this location, with a view to adding further homes and flats as suitable properties are found.

Living within our residential homes, women will become part of our community and we’ll be here to help and support them for as long as it takes. They will have access to training, counselling and many other services which have been identified and designed to enhance their chances of achieving sustainable and fulfilling living. We want to help the women in our care regain their independence, which we’ll do by helping them develop life skills and signposting them to relevant external agencies; from housing support, to training opportunities and finding employment.

Our Vision
Our vision is a world where women and their families are free to live safe, independent and fulfilled lives; a world where they feel loved, valued and able to contribute to the community.

Our Mission
To provide a safe, loving and supportive environment for homeless or abused women on their journey to achieving their freedom. To equip and empower them for independent, safe and fulfilled living by sharing the wisdom, knowledge and understanding that God has blessed us with, giving them practical life skills and tools whilst we supervise them on their chosen journey to recovery. In doing so we seek to honour God by impacting the lives of our women, our staff and the wider community.
